Early Learning St Albans Kindergarten 14 Modules •5 month project duration •66-Person Kindergarten •501 SQM All Projects Key Challenges Narrow residential streets requiring carefully coordinated transport logistics Overhead power lines impacting delivery and crane operations Designing around an existing sewer easement that could not be relocated Delivering a staged project that included demolition of the existing kindergarten, removal of the community playground and construction of a new council car park Grove delivered the new 66-place St Albans Kindergarten for the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) and Brimbank City Council, providing a modern, purpose-built early learning facility for the local community. The project utilised 14 modular units, manufactured off site over four weeks before being transported and installed on site. Despite the challenges of narrow residential streets and overhead power lines, the building was successfully installed over three days through careful planning and coordination. From site possession to handover, the project was completed in just five months. The scope extended well beyond the kindergarten building itself and included the removal of an existing community playground, demolition of the former kindergarten following handover, and the design and construction of a new 10-space car park within the adjoining council roadway. To maximise the available site, the building was carefully designed around an existing sewer easement that could not be relocated, while two external staircases provide safe and convenient access from both the main entrance and rear playground. This project marks the third kindergarten Grove has delivered in partnership with Brimbank City Council, demonstrating our proven capability in delivering high-quality modular early learning facilities that meet the unique requirements of live community environments.
