Education Sydney Road Community School 17 Modules •648 SQM •2 Days Installation All Projects Key Challenges Operating within tight traffic conditions and dense pedestrian flow Designing and delivering a modular building in a confined urban space Ensuring minimal disruption to local residents during installation One of Grove’s key strengths is the ability to deliver high-quality projects within densely populated areas, and this was demonstrated during the Sydney Road Community School Project in Brunswick. The project involved constructing a three-storey classroom facility in a confined geographic area, pushing the boundaries of modular construction to meet the needs of the school while adhering to local constraints. Located in the heart of Brunswick, a high-traffic and pedestrian-heavy area, the project required a unique approach to overcome the challenges of limited space and congestion. Grove’s in-house project management and transport teams developed an innovative solution that allowed for the installation of all 17 modules over just two days. The team worked efficiently with skilled truck drivers, a 240T crane, and creative modular engineering to complete the project with minimal disruption to the local community. The building, completed ahead of the 2023 school year, is a fully functional, multi-purpose space featuring classrooms for a wide range of subjects, including a woodshop, music room, recording studio, fully equipped science room, art room, and VCE classrooms. The building also boasts an ergonomically designed chicken coop and a lift for easy access and egress, ensuring the space is accessible and versatile for all students.
